A SKILLED OPERATIVE, Jill Valentine has been through several highly-specialized organizations, involving the 75th Rangers Regiment, Green Berets, Delta Force, S.T.A.R.S and finally the B.S.A.A. She possesses a determination that is found in few, and is always one who’ll follow her missions through to the very end in a bid to protect others who can’t protect themselves. When she commits to something, she commits and doesn’t let go of it . Jill has an incredible iron will , and you would be very hard pressed to force her to give up. She has a very strong stubborn streak, and can tend to be blunt and upfront about things , preferring the direct option. Jill possesses a strong ability to remain calm under pressure , and can make quick decisions whenever they are needed - it is difficult for her to lose her cool.FIERCE AND STRONG, Jill Valentine is not an individual to be overlooked, possessing a fire that few have - that’s fully capable of tearing the stars from the heavens and lighting the night on fire. She is quiet and tends to observe rather than interact - skilled when it comes to telling apart body language and intentions. Hesitant to trust, she relies on very few, and opens up to even fewer.YOU'D BE HARD PRESSED to get her to talk about herself, and she tends to work through things on her own. Her personal life and history is not for anyone else to rifle through , and she is very reserved about those that know about such . After her experiences in Kijuju , Jill has difficulty when it comes to people framing things like commands to her - and will often be incredibly stubborn when it comes to similar things . She has a strong need for independence ; the quickest way to bring her ire is to attempt to control everything about her . Jill values her agency and decisions highly , and will often prefer to take charge of situations , though is not afraid to let someone else handle leadership at the same time .POSSESSING A SENSE OF DUTY, Jill is not one to leave another individual behind, and will do her best to do what she can for them . She possesses an incredible hatred for greed and selfish tendencies, and tends to possess an incredibly strong moral compass. Jill can tend to be altruistic to a fault , often putting herself in harm’s way if it means that she can protect another .

appearance lill has multiple scars situated in various places. Several smaller ones originating from mild scuffles are located on her elbows, knees and arms, including a large, circular scar from her encounter with Nemesis and the infection - as well as three rough slashes on her right shoulder from Raccoon City. Included in the Raccoon City scars is several burn scars on her upper torso and arms from the flamethrower fight with Nemesis on the rooftop.Among these is a larger, long scar on her chest from the P30 injector, with rough scarring in the area, along with several long scars on her joints and spine from the fall in 2006 - which had been kept together via steel plates.Jill possesses two half-sleeves on her upper arms , depicting birds both in flight and on branches.

JILL'S STRENGTHS primarily reside in technical acts of fighting back both directly and indirectly. She is one of the most capable out of most of the Resident Evil cast, with the extensive training she has received. Her strengths at breaking into secured locations, lock picking, reconnaissance and gaining information is near unmatched, and so is her stealth ability - she will never accidentally knock something over, due to her experience as a thief & being hyper-aware of the space she takes up. Jill is extremely quiet, and is incredibly difficult to find if she wants to be, knowing exactly how to hide herself behind enemy lines. She doesn’t reveal anything she doesn’t want to, instead she listens and observes, even if just to gain information she can use if the situation arises.SHE IS INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT and is able to quickly note down things to do in tense situations, possessing strong combat skill alongside this. Jill is capable of a lot of more aerobic hand-to-hand, and strikes extremely fast - she doesn’t use brute force, but she uses her strength and her ability to knock down opponents quicker than they can get her to the ground. Through her Delta Force training, she is most capable when it comes to firearms, explosive ordinance, surveillance espionage and counterintelligence, counter-terrorism, special reconnaissance and cartography. She is especially skilled with handguns and sniper rifles, having extensively trained in the latter in order to fulfill her role as the sniper troop within her sabre squadron. She was trained in making explosives from almost nothing, and constantly utilizes them within her own combat situations if needed, as well as her skill when it comes to secure communication and intercepting intelligence.
JILL'S WEAKNESSES reside within her bleeding heart , her empathy and her tendency to fight for people who can’t fight for themselves. She held immense guilt for what she did while she was under Wesker’s control, and does reckless things to help others in an attempt to atone for what she did , and she’ll fight tooth and nail to help anyone she can. She fights constantly to maintain her own sense of control, and is very hyper-independant to the point that she will push others away and isolate herself if it means she can work through something on her own, and finds it extremely difficult to ask for help - she’d rather go quiet and fix things on her own.INCREDIBLY STUBBORN, she tends to focus on doing her own thing rather than following what other people tell her to do, though this doesn’t apply to missions or any other things. She despises not being able to do anything to help someone else, and her anger can tend to block out a lot of things - she’ll often gain tunnel vision through her fury, and will allow it to simmer and build up until she explodes and lashes out. She holds grudges and is very fixated on revenge against certain individuals such as Albert Wesker and Nikolai Zinoviev, and that as well can also form tunnel vision. After her experiences in Africa, Jill is a lot more aggressive and her temper is twice as volatile due to the temporary plagas infection along with the Progenitor virus and the P30, and she can find it difficult to emotionally regulate in certain situations.
1974-1983 Jill is born in 1974 to one of France's most infamous thieves .
Growing up in Bordeaux, France , underneath her thief father as an independent individual, she was taught through games and puzzles how to figure out puzzles and discover patterns && details. They moved to the U.S when she was around twelve years old, and was homeschooled. She largely taught herself, with her father stepping in occasionally, teaching her martial arts, lock-picking , breaking and entering, knots, and encouraged to play sports from an early age, enrolling in a rugby team from the age of 13 .A troublemaker child , Jill was someone who didn’t always pay attention to the rules , often being left to her own devices by her dad , who preferred to let her do things and find out the hard way if it was a stupid thing to do , rather than just forbid her with little reason or experience . She often spent hours away from home wandering the place , and often messed around in places she shouldn’t - putting her lockpicking and stealing skills to the test. There were certain cases where she hotwired and stole a couple cars , but she was quick to get in trouble with her father for it . Didn’t exactly stop her , though . She quickly developed a love for climbing things and traversing difficult scenarios and terrain , and while teaching herself to climb up the side of the building at around 9 years old , endured an incident where she fell and broke an arm, but she recovered rather well .1984-1993 Her mother was never quite in the picture, having left pretty early in her life. Once she was around 11-12 , her father began to take her with her on his heists and scouting missions, teaching her building flaws, entrances, how to move silently across a variety of materials, how to skim documents for important information, and how to break into a building quietly.Along with this came the art of pickpocketing and sleight of hand, something that Jill was particularly skilled within. She was taught how to handle firearms safely and responsibly, often taken to gun ranges in order to learn. They never quite used them , but the knowledge was good to have.At around 12 , she and her father entered a building that ended up collapsing on them shortly after, and shortly after they engaged in a fight with a rival thief who intended on stealing from them, but the pair ended up winning the altercation and the rival was stalked and stolen from himself by her father. At 15 years old , Jill hotwired and stole her first car, which she ended up crashing and then subsequently ditching . She and her father were responsible for several famous strings of thievery and heists and had several wanted calls put out for them , but local law enforcement never had any concrete proof, appearance evidence or names to put to the cas .She worked with her father from when she was thirteen up till she was seventeen, having never quite been caught by law enforcement - she joined the military upon encouragement by her father, who didn’t quite wish her to spend time in prison for his own career pathway. At the start , Jill possessed quite an attitude and was snarky towards some of the instructors , though it soon switched to proper responsibility once she spent enough time within the military . She still remained quite vocal about her own opinions , however . She had a determination that set her apart from many of the other recruits, pushing through and excelling when it came to certain tasks of the training, such as bomb disposal and infiltration.Upon joining the 75th Rangers Regiment, and gaining the callsign Sparrow for her strong determination to persevere, her inability to be contained, her father came to visit her on base, taking her out to go on a nighttime walk, and once he did so, pointed at the sky and squeezed her hand, telling her that “his eye is on the sparrow”, a means to encourage her and reassure her.She soon took that to heart, inscribing that on the lockpick that saved her life after Arklay. During her time in Rangers , she participated in several operations and events and ended up being involved in several cases of structural collapse, manhunts and other similar operations , and during a particularly heavy vehicle chase, collided with another hostile vehicle. She was quite frequently exhausted and overworked during this time .1994-2003 While she was part of the army, she quickly gained the attention of recruiters searching for potential candidates for Delta Force; the nation’s primary counter-terrorism unit. She was invited to take part in the 6-month, extremely intensive training course, where she excelled in lock picking and especially bomb disposal. During this period of time, she built up a reputation of being resilient, courageous and precise in her work; and she excelled during her training. After she completed her training and gained experience serving in the force, she was one of the only women in the world with Delta Force training. Due to her excellence when it came to stealth operations, especially breaking into buildings without leaving a trace, her capability with lockpicking, Jill was often sent on solo missions as part of manhunts or anti-terrorist operations, operating in high-risk high-stress environments, and her position helped her immensely. She excelled when it came to ambushes and gaining intel or special reconnaissance operations, and for the majority of combat operations worked within Squadron A as their recon/sniper trooper, assisting in direct assault. She possessed a strong skill with long-range weapons and marksmanship due to her training, though was best when it came to breaking-and-entering.She earned her airborne wings then, and always kept them refreshed. Jill was involved in several altercations during this time , and like with Rangers she was frequently overworked and exhausted .Highly skilled at what she did, she was scouted by Captain Albert Wesker to join S.T.A.R.S , and she served from 1996-1998 . She was involved in several important operations requiring her specializations , and was also involved in several transportation collisions partly due to her own driving tendencies and hostile manouvres. Her experience at Arklay Mountains flipped everything upside down. She experienced a strong sense of betrayal during this time , and was the one to kill the Tyrant at the end of the situation .The Raccoon City incident occurred not long after and she was both infected and subsequently vaccinated against the T-virus , but still experienced side effects of the strains she was exposed to , which is explained further in several other meta posts I have made .
From 2000 , Jill worked as a private anti bioterror operative , or rather , mercenary , and was exposed to several other viral strains , experienced a bout of virally contaminated clothing, and one incident where she was involved in a facility explosion and encountered friendly fire, which left her severely injured and recovering for a brief period of time .In 2003 , Jill was involved with Chris Redfield to investigate and shut down a Russian Umbrella facility , where they encountered Sergei Vladimir and T.A.L.O.S , before succeeding in their initial mission .2004-2013 From 2004 the B.S.A.A. was in place . Jill and Chris founded the organization and were part of the Original Eleven . Initially it only consisted of eleven elite members, but soon the onslaught exceeded initial predictions and although it was initially a veteran-and-civilian led organization, it was soon considered to be upgraded into something far more than what it was .It was restructured as an anti-bioterror unit under the jurisdiction of the UN , and around 70% of member countries allowed it to operate on their grounds . Headquarters were located in the UK , and most agents are based around airport hubs and air force bases , with several branches involved in every continent of the world, including Antarctica . In 2005 , Jill was involved in a long operation involving an investigation into the Queen Zenobia , and ended up also entering the Queen Semaramis , two ships that had been lost for a fair while . During this time she was severely exposed to T-Abyss , but with her immunity to Progenitor and T viruses , Jill didn't experience any severe side effects to this .In 2006 , Jill and Chris were involved in a long operation following several leads to locate and apprehend Oswell E. Spencer and discover the location of wanted fugitive Albert Wesker . They discovered the former deceased and the latter alive , and engaged in combat. Upon an attempt on Chris' life , Jill resulted in tackling Wesker out of a window and down the cliff , and sustained entire body fractures , hypovalemic shock and subsequently excessive bleeding, and was only saved by Wesker by the skin of her teeth. She was presumed Killed In Action a few months after and despite efforts to locate her body nothing was found , and a funeral was held while in reality Jill was recovering in a cryostasis coma within one of Wesker's facilities. She spent the following years under P30 and was essentially mind controlled by Wesker, and experienced several traumatic injuries that didn't heal correctly. Upon the Kijuju incident in 2009 , Jill was freed and rescued by Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar, and was placed in recovery at a BSAA medical facility. She developed several chronic conditions and autoimmune issues post Kijuju , and still struggles when it comes to dealing with them .Also outlined in one of my earlier meta posts. Jill was suspended from field work from her return in late 2009 to late 2011 , where she was placed in rehabilitation and even discharged from the hospital, was on strict orders to only focus on recovery and was in and out of hospitals and medical facilities for checkups and medical tests. She returned to the B.S.A.A. in late 2011 where even restricted from field work , engaged in mission support (similar to Hunnigan in the DSO) and assisted in several operations including Edonia / China and NYC .During her recovery she was involved in an industrial accident within her garage after not checking an engine appropriately, and spent a couple days recovering , along with becoming involved in a transportation collision.2014-2023 Jill was involved within the NYC incident in 2014 as mission support , coordinating ground troops and assisting Chris Redfield and Ingrid Hunnigan (subsequently Leon Kennedy) with information to rescue Rebecca and direct locations . Her official return to field work was in 2015 , when she partook in the Alcatraz incident , even after developing a brief cardiovascular condition as a result of her earlier heart issues post Kijuju. After this, she involved herself in several other operations , where she was frequently injured and still went through frequent medical testing, and was exposed to a severe viral incident .During 2017-2020 , business at usual at the BSAA , but she provided a lot of information to Chris Redfield about the organization and activities when he went rogue and left for Romania and the Winters . During 2022 , Jill was involved in a severe fight due to a mistaken identity altercation , and the same thing subsequently occurred in 2023 .2024-2026 Jill became involved with several operations and events alongside Helena Harper and Leon Kennedy, alongside many others . Mainverse here is heavily affiliated with @illuzijan , @harperhydra , @novelresilience and several others and will be updated here as events occur in the future .

† vampire: the masquerade

〘 au: vampire: the masquerade 〙 ⸻ ➥ we shall see whom i drag screaming into hell with me.
primary.
detail 003.
this verse is mostly based on the ttrpg vampire the masquerade being transported into the world of resident evil. notable changes to resident evil itself is that in this verse, spencer initiates the wesker project with vampirism instead of progenitor, or in addition to progenitor, and vampiric influence is a lot more common within umbrella and the various bioterror organizations — in vtm terms, most likely the giovanni clan is the one with the most influence. the events of the series play out as usual, with the occasional vampire or vampiric influence making themselves known, but to keep in accordance with the masquerade, most of them prefer to handle things behind human pawns instead.during re5, jill valentine still throws wesker off the cliff and is controlled through the remainder of the game, but the most notable difference is that instead of just p30, she's turned into a vampire ( lasombra specifically in vtm terms ) and blood-bonded which does the same thing as p30 and lasts until wesker is killed.after this series of events, she continues to live as a vampire with the added influence of the lasombra clan, and fights against her destructive nature in order to work with her previous team members in doing what she did in life. she prefers to take blood only from those who are willing and is extremely against the idea of trying to hunt strangers for it, but as always, vampirism is a curse, and you don't always get what you want.

Jill Valentine is the bassist of S.T.A.R.S, a famous rock band comprised of Barry Burton, Albert Wesker, Rebecca Chambers, and Chris Redfield, started in 1996. Two years into their career, they disbanded after Albert Wesker sabotaged them under encouragement of his true employer, Umbrella Records, intending on eliminating competition. She was incredibly vocal about the situation, and as such, received some limited backlash. Jill then moved to producing her own music, occasionally pairing up with Chris Redfield and avoiding journalists. Her style of music tends to lean towards grunge rock during this point in time, up until 2005, where she essentially disappeared from the public eye. Rumors spread like the plague, whereas in reality, she needed a break from the constant attention — isolating herself and living underneath a completely new identity. She only contacted Chris during this time, and sparsely at that, before returning to the public eye in the middle of 2008. After this, she returns to making music under her original name.

A naturally-born werewolf, Jill has taken up arms as a vampire hunter and seeks to both eradicate them from Wallachia and defeat Dracula. She has worked on her own to help the rest of the lycanthropes to free themselves from the vampire lord's influence after doing the same for herself, and joins Trevor, Sypha and Alucard far later on.Differing towns have differing rumors. In some, she's feared and there are stories told of werewolves coming to ransack the cities in the dead of night, and in others, she's welcomed for her work against the vampires and night creatures that continue to threaten them. Jill largely keeps to herself, however.During the events of the series, she's contacted by the Styrian vampires, who promise their assistance in her intentions if she helps them by procuring an army of her kind, though she refuses to take the deal on terms of principle. Her lycanthropy is infectious and can be transferred through significant injury, such as bites or deep scratches in an uninfected person.

Jill's career started early in the colonial marines, specializing in covert operations - this training included most of the elements that had comprised of the legacy unit Delta Force, before they were consolidated into the marines. After spending a few years in special operations, Jill used her significant experience to procure herself the role of marshal upon one of Weyland-Yutani's various space stations - the Asphodel. Unbeknownest to her, the station was intended to be used by the company to secure and contain a small clutch of recently discovered Xenomorph eggs to then be transferred to another ship and brought back to Earth. There was no certain account as to how, or why, but one of the inhabitants managed to trigger at least one of them a few days before the company's ship was scheduled to dock. Significant time was wasted on attempting to diagnose and manage medical treatment - which, of course, failed - and forced her to confront the idea of a fast-spreading panic that was infecting the rest of the inhabitants. Jill did all she could to gather people and organize potential escape routes through ships already docked, but when the Xenomorph began to systematically wipe the people out and started hunting her, she only finally escaped the station with a very small group of survivors with pure luck. Now, after being picked up and brought back to an inhabitated planet, her sole goal is to expose the corruption of Weyland-Yutani and stop others from being put in the same danger. Dangerous work, maybe, but if she can save one more station, it's worth every second of it.

The winner of the 44th Games, Jill was one of the first couple of Victors from D9. She won her games through exceptional ability to adapt and change to the surroundings, and received a strong training score. Jill didn't go out of her way to hunt others down, but was responsible for the deaths of several — and won through an impressive flourish of skill, pickpocketing a knife from the other last tribute remaining while they fought and killing him with it, earning her the way out.She was thrown into the deep end with mentoring the year after, and while not exceptionally someone skilled in the social field, managed to get @constellationcursed through and out the other side, to which they both worked together for a significant amount of time.Around the time of the Games during the 50's-60's, she got involved with Plutarch and what would then be the beginning of the start of the rebellion against the Capitol, and maintained a position as a key player specifically in the war room as a strategist, and while she ventured out in small squads here and there for specialized missions during the war, mostly played out her role moving others and organizing ways to get through.Like Haymitch, she was one of the Victors longest entrenched in it, and was part of the small inner circle that developed as a result, coordinating with him and others to get the 74th Victors out successfully.Valentine strongly intended on being on the field the entire time when the war began, but was made to help in the aforementioned strategic planning due to her experience and through recovery of some injuries she sustained during her escape to District 13. She begrudgingly accepted as long as it was temporary, but continued to participate where she could.

A very successful actor from the late 80's to late 90's era, Jill decided to take her leave for several years after experiencing the taxing environment of behind the cameras. She disappeared from public view for 4-5 years in the early 2000s, going underneath an alias and only "returning to life" / reappearing into the public eye around 2009/She kickstarted her career after moving to the United States from her home country of France, eventually finding a home with the S.T.A.R.S. broadcasting company. Jill stayed here for several years before it was disbanded due to corporate sabotage and severe financial issues, to then which she founded the B.S.A.A, the Broadcasting Screen Actor's Alliance ( still a workshop ), who then on continued to produce various films. They became renowned for influential and well-acclaimed films in the action, thriller and horror genres, the latter of which typically are themed around extreme apocalypse/body horror/the scientifically supernatural. She went on to portray one of the leads in the new Resident Evil series, playing a character of the same name as an homage to her earlier action/horror legacy. These films began production in the mid 2000s, to which she played a crucial role as leading lady for the first and third installments in the franchise - though upon her disappearance, her character was briefly written out of the script until the fifth was shot and produced - marking an impromptu return to the big screen. From then on, she took a more relaxed role and hasn't appeared in many recent installments of the franchise, opting to take more varied contracts instead, but ever since the recent revival she's been significantly more involved and active with the cast.

Raised as a thief, Jill spent many years in and amongst the streets of Dunwall, before being recruited into the Whalers by Daud as an early teen. She was quick to pick up on the skills taught, her background assisting her significantly in stealth, breaking and entering, and rudimentary explosives, all which culminated in a strong assassin, quickly rising into a good position within the group. She took several contracts of her own volition and with the group, but there was one particular occurrence that impacted her beyond anything she'd experienced. She went with a small collection of assassins she was particularly close to, only to find that the job was in complete shambles and shouldn't have been taken in the first place. In the process of escaping from the ensuing shitshow, Jill was turned on and at the point of death, was given the Mark of the Outsider.Somehow, she survived, and managed to limp her way home, to where she set about applying medical attention to herself and also attempted to consult research on the new brand. She wasn't successful just with textbooks and whatever archival books she could steal, and so she resorted to begrudingly consulting Daud for information.WIP

An alternate universe following the events of the musical Moulin Rouge
.HEADCANONS Jill has a love for nature, even though she hasn’t had great opportunity to really interact with it, as the main part of her career had always been in suburban settings, namely the RC incident, the Manor incident and the incident that involved the T-Type Tyrant, or better known as Nemesis. She enjoys walking in the woods, and being quiet, looking at the different insects, creatures and just listening to the general ambience of the different forests. It brings her a lot of peace._HEADCANONS The silver bar necklace that Jill wears is part of the first lockpick she'd used when she was younger.HEADCANONS After the events of RE5, Jill's hair never returned back to its original color on its own. Through the few days of recovery she managed to get through, Jill no longer wanted it as a reminder of what she had gone through and suffered, so as soon as she was able, she got someone to go out and collect brown hair dye for her, and with their help, she cut it and dyed it back to what felt normal for her.HEADCANONS Jill is afflicted with PTSD, often causing her to have very vivid flashbacks and nightmares, especially about the Raccoon City zombies and the Arklay incident. It gets worse every night, and she finds it very hard to sleep without medication.HEADCANONS Jill has multiple scars, smaller ones originating from mild scuffles, situated on her elbows, knees and arms, including a large circular scar on her shoulder from her Nemesis encounter - along with three slashes on her right shoulder from Raccoon City. Among these is also a long scar, and several smaller ones on her chest, from the P30 injector, along with greater scarring in the area. Accompanied by these are several longer scars on her joints and spine, from her fall down the cliff in 2006, kept together with steel plates. Added to these are several burn scars on her upper arms from the fight with Nemesis.HEADCANONS Jill was trained by the U.S Army as part of their Delta Force, and she gained many qualifications and skills due to this face. They taught her how to disarm bombs and to fight in combat, keep a head on her shoulders and think her way out of a situation. This was accompanied by her training as part of S.T.A.R.S; Special Tactics and Rescue Service; a group of specialized, skilled men and women from all over, comprising one of the most skilled teams in the world. Jill worked for them as mainly a rear-security operative, but put her bomb-disarming ability to specialize specifically in bomb-disposal. Jill was placed in charge of the rear-security division, managing its members with great responsibility.HEADCANONS Jill is into photography, and has a camera that she takes very good care of - she took most if not all of the photos she utilized for her investigation into Umbrella in 1998.HEADCANONS If she can’t sleep, Jill will often do something to tire her out, be it work, working out or exercising, or anything that will make her exhausted enough to sleep. This tends to happen frequently.HEADCANONS Medications don’t really work on her anymore, as she has both the T-virus immunity & a built up immunity to chemicals after RE5. This includes sleeping medication, which makes things a little harder for her.HEADCANONS After RE5, most of the P30 had been eliminated from her system, but a very trace amount remained due to the constant dosages. It doesn’t and cannot hold influence over her, but it does grant her a trace amount of increased stamina and strength - though nowhere near as extensive as the full dosages.HEADCANONS After RE5, and after she recovered, Jill continued to work for the BSAA - working in diplomacy, communications and operation support until she was deemed mentally and physically fit enough to enter the field. She eventually worked her way up to becoming Director of Foreign Affairs, due to the diplomacy work she did, though she soon stood down from the role once she was cleared to enter the field. She also took up a role similar to Hunnigan’s in the DSO, guiding operations and providing whatever support she did. She disliked these jobs, though since they were the only ones she was able to do - she still did them to the best of her ability.HEADCANONS Opened a mechanic shop as a side gig during her recovery, assisted with her vehicle specialization and often repaired vehicles and sent them back.HEADCANONS Jill still continues to get pains in her chest occasionally - most prominently where the injector used to be during AfricaHEADCANONS After her infection, her eyes are a very unnaturally vibrant blue. Along with this, she has abnormally sharpened canine and back teeth.HEADCANONS Jill has a tattoo on her shoulder depicting a sparrow and a crow intertwined with one another, she got this while she served in Delta Force . She drives every car like she stole it, she speeds like no tomorrow when the situation calls for it.HEADCANONS Due to the nature of the T-virus often giving cannibalistic urges to the host, Jill has something similar, but not cannibalistic in any form due to her immunity - this comes in the form of her having grown a stronger liking for meat in recent years, due to the t-virus being reactivated .HEADCANONS Jill hates thick, heavy clothing, stemming from the long cloak she was forced to wear in RE5.
Whatever coats or jackets she wears nowadays have to be light + easy to remove.HEADCANONS Jill was initially part of the 75th Ranger Regiment of the U.S Army, before moving onto the Green Berets (U.S Army Special Forces), and finally selected for Delta Force. She took part in A squadron, and excelled at breaking and entering. Jill was trained very extensively in espionage, and knows her way very well around dead drops, signals, surveillance, counter surveillance. She is also extensively trained in making explosives from common materials.HEADCANONS Jill trained in the U.S. Army alongside Krauser, and often trained in CQC alongside him, the pair being sparring partners before she joined Delta Force. Jill was extremely close to himin her army days, and stuck with him & trained alongside him. She kept very close contact with him until Operation Javier, and was devastated to hear of his death. Upon hearing of his betrayal through the Kennedy Report, Jill was devastated a second time. (Note, this can be omitted if you don't want to have this in their history if you write Krauser.)HEADCANONS Jill gained a notorious reputation for being an escape artist, able to get herself out of most restraints, any kind of cell or similar locations, and is able to pick practically any lock with anything readily available, bobby pins, lockpicks, paperclips, etc as long as she isn't incapacitated. She's a nightmare to keep down or contain. Couple this with her stealth capability and she can move around the same place where she was held silently, a nightmare to face when she's disappeared.HEADCANONS Jill was trained as a thief by her father, and worked alongside him as a teenager, only stopping when she decided to enter the military. Because of this, Jill is incredibly skilled when it comes to breaking and entering, and very often leaves next to no trace, and is able to scope out any place for the best place to break in.HEADCANONS She is also incredibly attentive, able to spot details that nobody else would, even when it comes to keypads and codes. It's to the extent that even hearing the beeps of someone inputting a code on a keypad means she can replicate the code exactly. She has a tendency to be able to get into most secure locations, and is a nightmare to keep out.HEADCANONS Due to her upbringing as a thief, Jill is actually very good at pickpocketing and sleight of hand. She's done it as bar tricks before, randomly stealing watches and other stuff off people without them being aware of it and giving it back after for a bit of fun. Watch your stuff around her.HEADCANONS During the time spent in Africa underneath the P30, Jill developed dissociative tendencies. She couldn't always be present in the moment, the mental toll & the guilt would have been too much, and it still remains nowadays in times of heavy stress when she's alone, she can tend to dissociate.HEADCANONS Jill knows fighting styles that include the following: Modern Army Combatives, Taekwondo, Ju-Jitsu, Tricking, Kali, Muay Thai, Krav Maga.HEADCANONS She has several gunshot scars on her upper arms & her torso/sides from multiple altercations during her work as a B.S.A.A. agent , along with the rest of the scars she has.
Before she joined the military, Jill used to participate in wrestling/hand to hand competitions now and then. She stopped a short while after she joined S.T.A.R.S, though.HEADCANONS Jill's a decent cartographer, she's used to being back behind enemy lines and sometimes spending weeks in special reconnaissance and mapping her own way through structures and environments. maps typically take her several days to fully draw up but once made it provides invaluable help when it comes to breaking into a target location or executing an operation in an area.HEADCANONS Due to her upbringing and experience as a thief, as well as with breaking and entering, Jill is incredibly hyper aware about the space she takes and her surroundings. She's not the kind of person to accidentally knock something over.HEADCANONS Before doing the Delta Force training , Jill was required to be Airborne certified, and had to do static line jumps every three months . She kept up with her qualification, and constantly refreshes it.HEADCANONS After several years in the B.S.A.A., she successfully managed to get her Master Freefall Badge, and after she stepped down from her Director of Foreign Affairs position, Jill instructed training at the BSAA, being their primary B&E expert, as well as bomb disposal & makeshift explosives expert, as well as being instrumental in hand-to-hand. She also often took people along with another instructor to achieve their parachute wings, and was one of the main individuals to go to if you wanted to qualify for H.A.L.O jumps.HEADCANONS During her initial few days of recovery, Jill had cussed out and quite literally threw out every single doctor or scientist that walked into her hospital room because she didn't trust anything they gave her, or them in general. There's a very noticeable dent in the wall outside her hospital room because of it. She had ripped out her IV on day 2 and literally refused to take any medication until they flew in one doctor she trusted with her life. She has permanent blonde streaks in her hair, especially towards the front.HEADCANONS Possesses a high tolerance for alcohol . Can and will drink people under the table if she wants to . Has won competitions against Chris and the rest of S.T.A.R.S . Doesn't typically get drunk / likes to get drunk and can tend to be quite aware of her own state when she goes out to bars and the like . Doesn't mean she doesn't rarely - but she generally tries not toHEADCANONS She doesn't admit it to herself , but there have been times where Jill has thought about the strength the P30 gave her in Africa , and wanted to have that strength back - but also never wants and despises that loss of control again . She doesn't like being pressed on that fact.HEADCANONS She sometimes tends to overexert herself unconsciously due to the fact that she spent 3 years at the peak of human condition, strong and agile enough to climb stone walls and jump insane distances with the P30 , that she isn't as used to her usual limits as much .HEADCANONS Post RE5 her temper tends to be highly volatile due to both chemical withdrawal and when she's recovering from having experienced both las plagas + progenitor as well as P30 - when it comes to temper flareups she can tend to be incredibly impulsive and has a strong potential to do things that she typically wouldn't if she was clear-headed.HEADCANONS Jill often collects records and vinyls of the music that she enjoys - which often involves bands such as Joan Jett & The Blackhearts , The Runaways and Guns n' Roses , though often will listen to a little bit of everything.HEADCANONS post re5 , her spine still suffers severe trouble for the first year or so of recovery thanks to the re-trauma it was put through after just being healed in her various fights in kijuju . she wears a spine brace along with the titanium screws and plates in the bone itself until the doctors consider it healed enough to remove . it took her a long time before she could move like normal , due to all her muscles and bones having been put through insane stress without a chance to rest for a long period of time .HEADCANONS jill hates cooking . she's pretty much exclusively lived off of M.R.Es and convienence food , and often won't cook anything if it takes her longer than fifteen minutes to make . she just doesn't have time more often than not, and has a lot better things that could be taking up her time .HEADCANONS Jill primarily thinks in French ! She always grew up with the language and even in the U.S , it was the only language she spoke at home . English was always pretty much for just when she went out and interacted with others - her father insisted that they stick to their mother tongue in the house , and she was by no means opposed to it. When it comes to stressful situations , Jill can occasionally switch to French swears instead of English - but both are still extremely plentiful .HEADCANONS Jill has developed a fear of dogs after her experiences fighting bioterror , and especially from the Mansion incident . Jill will tend to tense up if a dog suddenly approaches her or is just in her general vicinity , especially when it comes to Dobermanns . She's seen too many of them infected and had too many try to maul her during both the city and her experiences fighting in another operations , and generally doesn't like taking risks with them .HEADCANONS Jill's mother tongue is french and she speaks it with a native's fluency - english is her second . She possesses very limited knowledge of Japanese thanks to early history with her mother before she left the family , and tried to keep that little part of her - but it soon fell by the wayside and she doesn't remember more than the basics . Jill is willing to learn other languages if she finds reason to - she learned the basics of Italian from Parker when she was his mission partner for a fair while around the time of Revelations , and considers him a very close friend .When it comes to bilingual close friends and partners , Jill will make an effort to at least learn the basics of their tongue or get them to teach her the basics - she knows the power of language , and the ability it possesses to allow someone to forever carry around a fragment of somebody else . She won't go as far as fluency , but she will make a conscious effort to learn what she can as long as they are willing to do the same with her own mother tongue .HEADCANONS More often than not , Jill smells like cheap beer , motor oil , smoke and exhaust thanks to generally being found around the B.S.A.A's mechanic shops ! She can also tend to have an underlying smell of blood thanks to the amount of times she gets exposed to it on missions , but it's a lot more difficult to discern .HEADCANONS Her favourite smells lie among pine , petrichor , and the smell of her mechanic garage - car oil , chassis grease , brake dust , everything there within . She often associates the smell of exhaust and oil with one of the few places she can truly go to be herself , in her garage she doesn't have to stress about paperwork or missions or others , she can just relax and do something that's practically muscle memory . She'll be there for hours after a particularly rough night or job , and typically keeps everything work related out of her shop , she doesn't want to start associating it with stress .
.
HEADCANONS She shares a lot of fashion sense from her faceclaim ! A lot of more practical-over-aesthetic clothing , things easy to move around / fight in , anything similar in this vein . Never typically pays very much attention to her dress , but still tends to make somewhat of an effort sometimes - when it comes to more fancy/formal clothing , its suits all the way for her - she tends to feel uncomfortable in dresses . Doesn't often wear ties - when she does , she prefers them loose . As in the games her dress typically ranges from tube tops to combat wear and a lot of other things in between as well , but I have taken my own creative liberty with some aspects as I'd like to think she has at least something in her closet that isn't either of those two . A lot of the reference images are like . casual wear at home / mechanic work outfits especially with the tank tops but she'd wear them out in public as long as they're not covered in car soot . Her jackets she prefers light post RE5 & dislikes super heavy clothing .HEADCANONS Jill inherently is very , very skeptical when it comes to supernatural occurrences . She doesn't believe in superstition and considers things like ghosts to fall under the fictional category , which is why she tends to find it difficult to wrap her head around them . Jill isn't hostile to the idea, but doesn't pay a lot of heed towards it .HEADCANONS Nemesis is probably one of the only Tyrants she's ever felt genuinely terrified of . She doesn't show it whenever she's encountered it , but he genuinely affects her - Jill often pours all of her fear into fury most of the time , and that's why she was so loudspoken and frustrated the entire time she evaded him in the city - it wasn't all because of fear , a lot of it was genuine anger and frustration, but it was significant enough .HEADCANONS Jill has a lot of nightmares most nights and he tends to be in a lot of them - she tends to get rather tense at loud , heavy footsteps even nowadays and really hates feeling like she's always on the run or being tracked/watched by something .HEADCANONS Jill doesn't have a lot of connection when it comes to family in general. Her mother left when she was quite young , and her father raised her from then on - she never had any other relations. The military was her second family , especially the Rangers and Delta Force - they were as close and tight knit as any other family out there .HEADCANONS She was incredibly close to her father and learned practically everything she knew from him , and didn't exactly hesitate to follow in his footsteps as a thief . She was a bit of a troublemaker but he was the only one she really felt any sort of closeness with during her childhood .HEADCANONS Later on , when she had just joined the military and after he had gifted Jill her necklace (fashioned from one of her first lockpicks) he was caught , tried and convicted on several accounts of grand theft , and was incarcerated . She still kept in contact with him during that time , and still does .HEADCANONS Otherwise , during her time in S.T.A.R.S. Jill didn't really go out of her way to make bonds or to share more than she really had to. There were a few exceptions to this - mostly Chris , Rebecca , Barry and Brad , with only Chris really getting the occasional in-depth of her military experience & just some parts of her history in general . She worked as their B&E / E.O.D specialist , but also worked on their vehicles as a mechanic thanks to her history in that vein .The only officers she really interacted with any sort of frequency was Kevin Ryman and Marvin Branagh - the latter because he was one of the few she really could get along with, and the former mostly because she often saw him at the bar she frequented, and due to his constant in and out of the S.T.A.R.S. testing. She often did her own thing - she got paperwork done rather efficiently , despite it being not her favourite thing in the world. Jill launched several of her own investigations during the time she was in S.T.A.R.S , mostly when it came to cases she held more interest in.HEADCANONS Her necklace is her most prized possession . It's the last thing that she has of her father since he was incarcerated , and is from a better time - she was given it when she joined the military , and it was made from one of her first lockpicks . Jill isn't really religious - she wasn't the one who inscribed it with the verse , but her father grew up Catholic . He hasn't really followed it for several years, but it was a surprise that he made for her - and it's actually the reason behind why she uses Sparrow as a callsign within the B.S.A.A. instead of her military one .HEADCANONS The reason behind why Jill wasn't fully cured by the vaccine in Raccoon City & why the virus still survived dormant in her bloodstream even to years later mainly resulted from Nemesis being the one to infect her . Her infection is particularly potent thanks to the chemicals secreted by the Nemesis Parasite , along with being infected for a good deal of time already. She's pretty unique in that aspect when it comes to the very few who survive T , as she's survived a much stronger version.HEADCANONS Jill enjoys birdwatching . She'll often do it when she goes on her hikes, and generally carries a notebook to sketch the ones she sees. She's a surprisingly good artist when she tries.HEADCANONS Jill tends to do a lot of different things to keep herself busy / her mind off things - this often includes things like sparring , training, or in more proper-hobby territory she's played piano in the past , she enjoys photography and when its especially bad, will dump a whole box of locks she keeps somewhere in her apartment onto her desk and will go through all of them with her lockpicks .Something she developed from her time in Delta Force is that she'll often chuck a weighted rucksack on her back and will go for several hour long hikes at ungodly hours in the morning to destress , and will often accompany that with a spot of birdwatching / sketching the wildlife that she sees while heading out . After particularly rough missions she heads to her garage & works on the vehicles / gear there and you won't see her come out for hours . More often than not though destressing for her is just a fancy word that means "get your mind off it" and so she just puts all of herself into something that requires all of her attention.HEADCANONS Joan Jett was definitely Jill's gay awakening . When she was a teenager Jill dressed after her & tried to imitate a similar hairstyle to the rockstar until she found her own style . She's always been obsessed with her music & Up Your Alley is her favourite album of hers and she is very very vocal about it in the right situations . Any of the tracks on there are strong favourites but she loves Hate Myself For Loving You, Just Like In The Movies and Tulane . Loves all 80's rock in general but JJ has always been her favourite and always will be .HEADCANONS Jill visited her grave post Kijuju . It felt surreal , and she only did it once - never again . Some part of her feels buried in that empty casket underneath the headstone , and she could only stand being there for so long before she turned to leave, and never came back .HEADCANONS Jill had several investigations out for crimes involving larceny , grand theft, grand theft auto , pickpocketing , breaking and entering, theft, and burglary when she was a teen and working with her father , but since her name was never revealed to local law enforcement + she was never caught by some stroke of luck, those were soon dropped when the thieving stopped in her area (around the time she joined the military). They aren't on her record and she's never been charged but she still very clearly remembers all of them and while she doesn't tell those stories, it's pretty obvious what she used to do more times than not. She won't deny it if asked but she's also not going to say anything condemning about it .HEADCANONS Literal worst at contact names . Incredibly utilitarian about all of them . Nobody gets fun nicknames in her phone , all of them are either their initials or their name/callsign . Do not ask her to give you a fun name either . Will not do that .HEADCANONS casual competition does not exist to this woman.HEADCANONS Jill had to re-learn how to walk and move around after her injuries and fractures from the fall healed , and she was given several braces and spinal implants by TRICELL in order to function properly with the amount of fractures her spine had on the way down . It was incredibly tough and even nowadays she has a great deal of trouble with certain movements or positions , and her spinal implants and metal plates always have to be kept in . Post fall Jill was given a few months with TRICELL doctors - mostly security thanks to her uncooperativeness - learning how to walk and move around before she was subjected to P30 and forced to do combat training pretty much on the daily with her already stressed and barely recovered body . This was sped up by experimental medications Wesker developed but there are still several long lasting effects of her fall injuries .HEADCANONS Thanks to essentially being held together by biological agents and having a cocktail of different viral properties all over her bloodstream and the amount of things she'd been subjected to, Jill's completely infertile , she's barred from donating organs and giving blood completely .HEADCANONS She's pretty much on constant government testing via the B.S.A.A. when it comes to those same viral properties , especially post mind control and post Kijuju . There's a lot of regulation on her considering her status as a superhuman / bioweapon, and she's extremely scrutinized as a result , more than most, and she hates it. She has to get regular checkups at the B.S.A.A. , and post Kijuju , had to check into rehab regularly for the first two years or so due to the P30 addiction she'd developed from constant dosages through the device and the heavy withdrawal she experienced after having it cut off so suddenly. Another reason for that scrutiny is that since Jill is so chock full of biological weapons , she's a prime target for that same thing. Her blood's potent enough to significantly enhance and mess with already existing/developing biological weapons and viral agents , and that side of her medical is very heavily put under wraps as a result of it.HEADCANONS Jill has this uncanny ability to just . be content doing nothing for a very long time . She doesn't do it frequently but during sniper school and her military experience , there was one thing that was constantly drilled into her over and over again and that was how to stave off boredom while watching something tediously for hours or days at a time. There was no chance for her to do things like talking or playing card games to pass the time as it would cause too much noise or drawn attention , so she found her entertainment via studying landscapes around her , finding hiding spots , challenging herself to find whatever she can and drawing maps, and it helped her become incredibly detail oriented.HEADCANONS She was somewhat religious to an extent in her early youth, but it was never something that particularly stuck with her. Her necklace is inscribed with a phrase based on a Bible verse, specifically Matthew 10:29-31 , and reads "His eye is on the sparrow ." Her father was briefly Catholic and was the reason behind the gift of her necklace, which was fashioned from her first lockpick. Jill doesn't particularly care for organized religion nowadays and faith in general is an incredibly , incredibly rocky thing for her given all she's seen and experienced and her difficulty with reconciling that with a "good" higher power, and she doesn't always feel comfortable with certain parts of religion, but if someone she loves is religious then she'll make an effort to learn about it / participate even if very minimally .HEADCANONS Jill knows basic / conversational Spanish and limited Portuguese from when she was a private anti-bioterrorism operative before the foundation of the B.S.A.A. , and operated primarily within South America. The extent of it is not exceptionally extensive but she can hold a basic conversation with locals to gather information .HEADCANONS In terms of anything in the vein of service animals, Jill does get kind of get one herself . She doesn't get a dog because of her fear and general anxiety around them , but later timeline Jill does get a black cat who she bonds incredibly close to (kinda specifically a couple years or so post Kijuju) .
She's not defined as a service animal but the cat's registered as an ESA and helps her a lot when it comes to her emotional state. Jill's found that since she's had to care for it that she's slowly started taking care of herself better , and the cat often is able to notice when she's going throuh nightmares and the like and tends to help ground her when she's alone in her issued apartment . She's named the cat Marley after her longtime military friend.
Jill got given Marley as a gift by one of her friends a couple years post Kijuju ! She was initially very hesitant about the idea of having an animal in her house after her experiences and was rather tense for the first few months , even if her cat was just a kitten at that stage, but as time went on Marley slowly began to grow on her and she started losing a little bit of her fear around some animals after her experience with infected ones.Dogs she will still never go near again, but Marley made her more comfortable around cats and she started to find that since having another living being in her house, she's started to remember to eat and just generally take care of herself a little better even if just for the cat's sake.Marley in general is quite active and friendly , and tends to always be around Jill in some way even when she's doing work. She can sense when Jill's going through a tough time especially after nightmares or during PTSD episodes — it doesn't work all the time , but she picks up on distress sometimes and generally tries to cuddle up to her and purr on her to try and make Jill feel a little better . She likes to sleep by Jill's head and tends to clamber all over her at bedtime as well.HEADCANONS Jill had matching patches with Jack Krauser from when they were close in the military and often went on operations together . She has her own few matching copies of his Death / Glory patch that he wears on his uniform / beret , and she's got at least a couple of them that she managed to scavenge out from Raccoon City from old safehouses she used to stay at . She's sewn one onto her usual gear that she takes out on missions , and keeps the other ones for sentimental reasons. Her first one that she received she wore on her military uniform like Krauser did , but that uniform is long since destroyed in the Raccoon City blast.
.
HEADCANONS Jill changes her appearance several times in a bid to try and regain her autonomy + sense of self in something that doesn't remind her of wesker or that time period in her life , she changes her fashion style a little , her hair color, how she carries herself, also has issues with her names briefly. She eventually reverts back to something similar to pre-re5 in a bid to like . be defiant against how he controlled everything about her and try and prove to both him and herself that she won't let him keep controlling her from the grave . it's her way of showing to herself that she's got the autonomy to choose to maintain or not maintain it and she didn't maintain it for a long while after being discharged , until she started pulling herself together and changing almost everything about herself compared to the image she had when she was in africa + when she was physically unable to do anything about it .
i mostly blame capcom for whatever the fuck that outfit was because i'm not a fan of the reason behind it + have seen better redesigns but it does somewhat make sense in the concept of the game and the events at that time especially with wesker's intention on causing her a lot of hurt and pain so that was just another way to undermine her autonomy and destroy her sense of identity and self .that plus the cloak and clothing she couldn't easily get off and the plethora of health issues she received afterwards meant that she began being incredibly strict and obsessive over what she wanted to wear and how she wanted to present herself as a way of regaining that control again . she starts obsessing over herself a lot more and it takes several years before she feels comfortable enough in her own skin .HEADCANONS Jill's murder board is her favourite thing about her shitty apartment (she hasn't unpacked for five years that's like the first thing she put up) (it covers practically an entire wall) (she ran out of string once).HEADCANONS Jill always has music going at her garage , regardless of time. Whether B.S.A.A. or home garage , (mostly B.S.A.A. or wherever she's set up) there's always a speaker set super high and Jill always runs through her typical rock playlists (See: Joan Jett , The Runaways , and for later timeline Jill : Paramore , Bones U.K , Alice In Chains , selective Rammstein and assorted bands etc) . Constantly set near maximum volume for maximum distance ratio in the workspace and the easiest way to tell if Jill is there . she has slowly assimilated friends' music tastes into her playlist so it isn't totally uncommon to hear very select musical tracks and/or Britney Spears during select times . Most of it is drowned by the rock but regardless.HEADCANONS Post Kijuju Jill has a lot of issues when it comes to people touching her hair or her face, even if it's clearly out of kindness and not out of malice and will react extremely negatively if she doesn't expect it/ hasn't given express explicit permission for people to do this. After dealing with Excella especially as well as Wesker , Jill is extremely adamant about her appearance and let it go / did nothing for it for several months , and its almost a way for her to assure herself that this body is hers and that she has control over itHEADCANONS Jill has a drawer in her office that's pretty much solely made up of trinkets and knick knacks she's stolen out of people's pockets or off their person. usually not anything important or easily missed, typically loose pennies , wrapped mints , other small objects and things she's accumulated over the years from pickpocketing friends when they weren't looking . it's very much her trophy drawer and she's proud of it .HEADCANONS Jill briefly developed intensive care delirium during her time at the B.S.A.A. hospital post Kijuju, thanks to being kept in isolation, meeting most if not all of the indicators for it, and having the constant sounds of the hospital room she was in on until Rebecca intervened with her treatment plan.HEADCANONS She was sedated for the first week or two, and was noted in her patient file to be very hostile and aggressive towards medical professionals, especially in the early mornings when they came to collect vitals. This is a result of the aforementioned delirium causing her to mistake them for TRICELL doctors given practically the same outfits and everything, and this lasted again, until Rebecca stepped in and intervened and helped her through the rocky patch that was her medical recovery.
Jill also developed an extreme distaste for needles and invasive medical interventions after her experimentation in Kijuju and then on, and now will refuse IVs and unknown medications unless someone she trusts walks her through what it is and what needs to be done , or if its an absolute emergency and cannot be avoided . Even in that case, she prefers it to be short in duration when it can be.HEADCANONS RC and Arklay fundamentally changed Jill in a lot of ways, but one of the biggest lay in the fact that she's always been the winning person / one of the most capable out of many, many people at that time and then that being for absolute naught. She achieved a lot of very significant milestones at very early ages compared to the average, was one of the best in her military class, scored 110+ on her ASVAB and got into a Tier One special forces team in a time where women in the military was exceedingly rare, and she had a Lot of confidence in herself. She's never been the boastful or bragging type about it, but she felt a lot of internal pride for everything that she achieved and it made Arklay & RC a hell of a lot worse for her.Arklay and RC changed her fundamentally because for the first time in her life she was failing SIGNIFICANTLY more than she was ever succeeding. The things she'd been trained to a T on how to do was practically thrown out of the window and even with all her specialized skills she could do nothing to save anybody and it messed with her for a long while afterwards. Her experience then grounded her to a great extent, and I feel it definitely set the path she took later in life.HEADCANONS Jill's love language lies in acts of service. She's not someone you'd consider your typical romantic, and takes a while to even catch feelings for someone. She shows her affection towards somebody else by doing things for them and offering to do so. Her time is also incredibly valuable to her and in the line of work that she's chosen for herself, so her time is prioritized towards those she's particularly close to.As for sexuality? Jill's had a couple of flings during her time in the military. She stopped when she joined S.T.A.R.S, intending to focus more on the line of work that she'd chosen for herself, and after being hardened through her experiences, made it significantly less of a priority. Nowadays, relationships in general are something that are reserved for extremely, extremely few, and they're usually people she's known for a long time. It varies to who exactly it is as this blog is multiship, but the general idea stands.HEADCANONS During her time in S.T.A.R.S, in the early years, she met two young girls called Becky and Priscilla McGee. They knocked on her door one afternoon asking for help looking for their lost dog while their parents were at work, and Jill agreed. She found it, and soon after, the girls practically adopted her and would come over a lot to talk her ear off about what they were doing, and Jill cared immensely about them. They were some of the victims of the Arklay incidents that led up to the investigation of the murders and the mansion, and were primary motivations for figuring out who was responsible. She held a lot of grief and guilt over their deaths, even if it wasn't her fault, and still thinks about them on occasion when it comes to the effects of bioterror on those who can't defend themselves.HEADCANONS Jill ran her investigations through two ways. She would figure out and present her theory, and then would immediately formulate a theory that would disprove her initial idea to gain both perspectives and see the bigger picture. She hates having to disprove her own investigations, but does so anyway for the reasons listed above.HEADCANONS She was Wesker's biggest hindrance in the mansion and absolutely blew through the majority of the puzzles before he could put methods in place to stop her. Jill made herself a massive problem and regrets none of it. Many of them she figured out through unorthodox means, or got their riddles in time to beat the majority of others to it. Her father's lessons helped majorly with this.HEADCANONS Upon entering S.T.A.R.S, Jill was insanely overqualified for several of the positions offered. She was passed over for pointman, and that did irk her to a significant extent at the beginning, but at the same time it wasn't entirely unexpected given the times. Jill held some resentment towards Chris for several months as a result, but dropped it after they began to build a friendship together.HEADCANONS Jill stole her harness and belt off the body of a fallen R.P.D. officer during the events of Raccoon City after she escaped from her apartment. She had no time or opportunity to grab her own, so took the closest ones she could find and kept going on her journey through the city.HEADCANONS Jill has a ridiculous tolerance against stimulants and similar drugs/medications as a result of P30. P30 has many qualities reminiscent of a stimulant, was delivered in high, concentrated dosages for three years and subsequently Jill built up a pretty strong tolerance for it over time. Drugs don't really work unless they're high dosages. Medications are the same. Sedatives require an almost lethal dosage to put her under and maintaining that becomes difficult in very certain situations.Post RE5, when she was wheeled into the OR for cardiac surgery following cardiogenic shock, arrest and a whole host of heart issues, it sent a lot of doctors into stress. The maximum dosage of sedatives had no effect and she had to be RSI'd (rapid sequence intubated) and put on maximum dosages of certain medications to keep her asleep.HEADCANONS She remained in the ICU for a significant amount of time following, and had restraints placed on her so she wouldn't panic and rip her tubes off if she woke up. Jill did not like the idea of being on medications and made herself a massive problem when she was awake and sober, intending to get off them as soon as possible thanks to her experiences.HEADCANONS She had extensive damage to her internal muscle on her chest after it was ripped off, due to tubes being placed into the muscles and it not being removed in a particularly safe manner, to which the shock also led to her collapsing afterwards.Post fall, Jill was very, very lucky not to die on impact. Logically, she should have, but Wesker broke the majority of it. She had devastating and near incompatible with life injuries to the point where she would have coded with Wesker potentially several times before actually being stabilized enough initially, and she broke nearly everything. The resources put into keeping her alive are staggering compared to what usual hospitals are allowed to give, she had steel plates and screws put into several of her bones to allow them to heal, and was subsequently both physically rehabilitated and returned to a combat fit state through no easy means, especially as she was able to still function enough after the removal of P30 even after being in compensatory shock.HEADCANONS Jill's talent does not lie in computers. She tends to fuck them up in the worst ways you'll ever see them, and has broken several things due to a lack of familiarity with constantly changing technology. As a result, she prefers to let other people handle computers while she sticks to the practical. She is essentially the person you give a laptop to when you want it bricked. This was a problem when she started mission support. This has since improved.(Brought to you by Jill's inability to roll higher than a 10 dealing with them)HEADCANONS Jill's always been incredibly firm with her boundaries, before and after, and that doesn't change. Beforehand, she was usually incredibly quick to catch on to people if they were stepping too close to something, and was more than happy to let them know in a forward way.A lot of it revolved around her ability to keep her personal life personal, and that people wouldn't dig into things they didn't have any reason to, and a lot of it also extremely revolved around her capability as a woman in the armed forces and later on S.T.A.R.S, and never allowed anyone to pressure her into proving anything if she could help it.She is very firm on that stance and doesn't let anyone second-guess it, she's worked a lot to get to where she was and as such isn't willing to tolerate people who try and talk down on her or imply she isn't able to do things to the extent others can.Afterwards, she was twice as firm and on an extremely short wire regarding them. Post Kijuju, she was much more firm on her autonomy, her ability to maintain her own appearance and actions, and about her freedom as a whole. She was extremely volatile for a good while after coming back, and was incredibly pissed about being confined to one area while recovering. She was not willing to tolerate anyone even crossing a minute distance past those boundaries, and was very willing to throw people out of her room outright or give them several choice worda as a result.Regarding personality changes, Jill was a lot more shut-off and isolated post Kijuju, and didn't particularly want to talk about her experience to anybody except Rebecca and Chris. She started to harden herself a significant amount more, and though her driving passion remained her empathy and the way her emotions work in tandem with the rest of her personality, was less inclined to really show them in a lot of contexts. She was more volatile due to changing situations and newfound freedom, and she focused on making herself just as prepared as she was before if not doubly so.HEADCANONS Jill is not someone I can ever see retiring or leaving her line of work. She knows she realistically can't stop things on her own. She knows that nothing will really change. She still tries, because there's nothing else she can do, even if it is an incredibly flawed system. This is made even more evident with the way America tends to treat their veterans, and their difficulty in reintegrating back into society and civilian life post service. It just doesn't function the same as what they're used to, and she wouldn't really know what to do. Retirement is out of the question because she's someone who equates work with penance and work with coping through her extensive trauma, and same with her field work, she would not be able to sit with herself for days without having anything in that vein to do. I genuinely think that Jill will keep going until she physically cannot anymore. It's the combination of all the above and the promises she made to herself.HEADCANONS Jill has an incredibly complex and nuanced view on what she considers her personal stance of morality. It's a spectrum. It's not black and white. She's got a clear moral code but she does not stick to it 100% of the time, even though she tries. She equates herself with having good intentions, not being a good person. They mean different things to her. She considers herself to have good character, but again, does not consider herself a good person. She cannot call herself a good person without being hypocritical, because she simply is not one in her personal view when she factors in everything she's done willingly or unwillingly, and the fact that she's worked for the wrong people / followed the wrong directions / been wrong in the past, and her severe guilt doesn't help with this.Simply put, it just doesn't mesh with her own perspective of herself, even if it might for everyone around her.
P30 is not purely a chemical. It imitates a parasite, and while there is a set of chemicals in the device itself, ( such as a very heavy dosage of stimulants ) the major part involves a heavily modified Las Plagas parasite ( without attaching itself to the spinal system like it does in RE4. ) It has the tendency to metabolize very quickly, as seen in a file, and with the extremely high dosages that Jill would have required, the size of the device is simply just not feasible to hold enough of the substance necessary to apply said dosage at said regular times, even without her incredibly strong immune system that has been said and confirmed to fight it off at multiple points in time, though rarely lasting long. I believe this is also supported by the fact that, upon removal, all effects essentially cease immediately. Her blood was significantly strong enough to temper Uroboros, again as noted in a file, where it decreased both severity and negative effects and made it somewhat more viable for testing. She has a strong presence of many kinds of Progenitor-based viruses in her system, including the original T-virus she was infected with, then the exposure to T-Abyss, potential Uroboros samples, and of course, the base virus, Progenitor. As such, to keep her immune system from killing off the parasite or flushing out the chemicals at a faster rate, Progenitor was added into the mix alongside the stimulants and collection of chemicals to familiarize the drug with her immune system and essentially hide it through familiar antibodies. The usage of stimulants served to eliminate the mental barriers that in a typical scenario, would usually prevent someone from overexerting themselves beyond their capability. In her case, it increased her capability for speed, stamina and strength to a significant extent, and quickened wound healing, allowing her to recover to a swifter extent and heightening an already-high pain tolerance - giving her the illusion of essentially being invulnerable. This constant usage of stimulants was also a factor in post-removal, as since her heart had been relying on the mix to keep her going, all the stress from both injury and overexertion went directly to her cardiac muscle and overloaded it enough to send her into cardiogenic shock shortly after she managed to reach the helicopter. During the subsequent months of recovery, she experienced heavy withdrawal and the jarring removal of the device caused significant injury, taking weeks to initially stabilize and significantly longer to recover from withdrawal.
As we know, Jill is one of the few who are immune to progenitor-based viruses. She possesses a unique genetic marker capable of producing antibodies against it, with the capability of both subduing the lethality and drastic mutations of other similarly-based viruses, and was a significant reason behind the fact that she essentially only developed the beneficial sides of the infection. She survived the events of Raccoon City for longer than most due to this, especially considering that she was left with the infection for over a day without being turned or coming close to being turned. This is especially significant considering it wasn't just T she was infected with, but the unique strain attributed to the NE-alpha parasite since it was Nemesis who infected her - which would have been a lot more potent than the first strain. With the sheer extent of viruses and bioengineered agents she's been exposed to, she's developed a very strong immune system that will flush almost any foreign agent out within a very short time. Medications and other similar substances don't work on her unless they're taken in very high dosages, which made her recovery post Kijuju significantly harder since anesthesia wouldn't work until they put her on a near-lethal amount. She can still get sick, or become infected, but they're typically watered-down and weakened compared to the usual effects. This made her an unsuitable candidate for Uroboros testing and also as to why she was experimented on as a solution to making the virus more tolerable to a human body.
Jill's immunity doesn't make her exempt from some of the behaviors and behavioral changes that come with her various infections, especially those that belong to those who would have otherwise turned. They aren't as overpowering, but are still very much present.First off, T-virus tends to target the brain. It has been recorded that it messes with the body's fear response, and as such, Jill doesn't really have a sense of self preservation or the typical kinds of fear response that most would. Her reaction instead tends to turn to some kind of temper or aggression, and she's almost physically incapable of assessing real risk vs perceived risk from an emotional standpoint. To combat this and the potential of rushing into things over her head, she tends to make herself physically stop and slow down to analyze the risk from a more logical standpoint.Secondly, she's developed a heightened taste for meat or meat related products. She doesn't have the typical cannabilistic tendencies that a lot of turned T-virus victims have, but regardless, her teeth changed to accommodate the virus' preferred way of spreading. They're a lot sharper than usual, with her canines and back teeth being more pointed and noticeable, and able to do some real damage as a last resort.Thirdly, as mentioned before in my previous two metas, the T-virus provides a bolster to her vitality and immune system. She can endure physical shock to a greater extent, is able to survive with open wounds longer, and has strong resistance against other Progenitor-based viruses. There is some incredibly limited and slow regeneration qualities to this as well, especially seeing that infected in-game can and will get back up - this is what supported her survival after falling down the cliff during Lost In Nightmares. She was borderline dead, but the combination of both the virus and Wesker's own efforts helped her survival.
Because of her natural immunity to variants such as T and current medical state, it's harder for jill to become infected. Not impossible, she still can be infected via some strains of viral contaminants etc, but it's just significantly harder and it requires a lot more exposure — that, and she probably doesn't feel the effects /as/ severely as someone without all of those protections in place.Jill was exposed to T virus initially in Arklay. Mostly from a general standpoint as the entire location was compromised and contaminated, but moreso directly as due to a result of Plant 42 and directly encountering it and being the one to wither it — subsequently being trapped with the similarities of both of them possessing a drive for self preservation and freedom — so as a result, Jill was imperfectly inoculated/immunized and still has antigens from 42.Jill was then exposed to T virus again in Raccoon City, and was physically infected by one of Nemesis' barbs containing venom that was pretty much the NE-a version of T, which already is a significantly more potent and parasite contaminated strain. She survived two days unconscious in the clocktower before Carlos found her. She was displaying little to no sign of infection other than discomfort and altered state of consciousness, which is a significant point when several others turned far quicker. Most of this results from her exposure to Plant 42 and aforementioned actions. The plant provided her with limited antibodies, which helped to stave off the T-Ne-a type she was initially infected with, allowing a slower integration and development before Carlos administered a cure.Even Kendo's daughter, who didn't particularly have an official timeline of infection was pretty mutated / disfigured even if she was alive in likely a similar timeline, maybe a little longer, but the important thing to note is that Jill herself never suffered any kind of mutation or physical sign of infection during those two days and hours onward.Because of the above and official sources, we know Jill is naturally immune to T-virus and associated strains, and then some thanks to 42 and Arklay. She was given a vaccine (more accurately, a cure, because a vaccine is for prevention so it's a little odd they called it that) from Carlos in the hospital. This served to help temper down the negative effects she would have actually received from the infection. She was unconscious for two days. This gave the virus plenty of time to work in an altered state of consciousness, and it severely altered several parts of her body in an attempt to optimize it for what the virus was best at — endurance, spread, and survival. As a result, her amygdala was affected, she doesn't register fear or risk (canon material), her muscle definition improved, and she gained a whole host of the beneficial internal mutations that would have been in your usual T-zombie, but without the negatives and without the brain decay. She did develop behaviors reminiscent of T-zombies, but not to their significant extent, and developed sharper canines and back teeth to support the spread of the virus through its preferred method (bites and saliva.)She was exposed to T-abyss within the Queen Zenobia and the Queen Semaramis. For a long time, in infected waters. She did not turn or show any significant infection symptoms. Pre-events of RE5, but after Lost In Nightmares, we gain an insight into her biological makeup and capability.Through the time T virus was within her body, her immune system developed a defense system "nothing short of miraculous", and the antibodies she carried possessed incredible resistance towards Uroboros. It was to the point where it could temper down the virus and make it less lethal.T virus is based off of Progenitor, and as such, both antigen markers were likely present in Tyrant to an extent. Jill is NOT immune to Progenitor, but she has a bolstered defence against it and if administered in small doses, her body would be likely to recognize the antigens present as it's somewhat familiar. She does not receive the benefits nor the negatives of Progenitor.A lot of this part is heavy headcanon based as there is little information provided, but I had it written as because of her bolstered immune system, P30 would have likely been resisted against for a much longer time if it was purely just P30. I briefly had the thought that Progenitor was dosed in small quantities to help mask the P30 and cause her body to familiarize itself with it/not react as strongly as a result. I feel like this would also work with the canon information that her T-virus infection was reactivated during her initial year of experimentation, and the potential connections between the two.Post RE5, Jill is essentially held together and only alive because of those various infections and their infections of her body. T was reactivated, and she's shown no negative symptoms, based on the fact that she is already immune. There are still P30 traces in her bloodstream, along with dormant T-abyss and Progenitor exposure, but these have miniscule effects except when it comes to bolstering her immune system, which is already incredibly significant.Stimulants and sedatives take high, concentrated dosages before they have an effect. Medications take higher, concentrated dosages to have an effect. Generally, if/when she gets sick, it's not very debilitating and she typically recovers quickly and has little symptoms.SO. WHAT CAN AFFECT HER?Infecting her with T virus or any closely related strains are ineffective. Progenitor based viruses are familiar to her body, and depending on how similar their makeup is to T, she'll likely won't have an extreme reaction. Large doses of Progenitor will have an effect on her, but she is resistant to the virus as a result of that immune system and because her body already recognizes it due to prior exposure.Combined viruses are 50/50 depending on their makeup. As a whole, anything viral, she has resistance to, but the important thing is that she is not immune to everything and viral contaminants can and do still have an effect on her, there are just much stricter paramaters and exposure times/dosages for that to happen. If viruses are accompanied with Progenitor or T, then they're probably more likely to have some effect.Otherwise? Takes a lot of effort. It takes a lot and then some to make it past her significant defense system, and even then effects may be tempered.New viruses not linked to T or Progenitor will likely have some effect on her. She just likely won't get hit as hard with the worst of the symptoms. Viral contaminants or infectious material that are more psychologically based rather than physical likely have a higher chance of effect.
